Space Marines: Infernus Squad
The Cleansing Flame of the Imperium
Infernus Marines are the pyre-blessed specialists of the Space Marine Chapters. Armed with long-barreled pyreblasters, they are deployed to flush enemies out of dense cover or to incinerate xenos swarms in a purifying wall of flame. They don't care about armor or agility; they simply saturate the battlefield with promethium until nothing is left but ash and scorched earth.
Why They Are a Tactical Necessity
The "Anti-Horde" Solution: Their Pyreblasters are "Torrent" weapons, meaning they automatically hit their targets. This makes Infernus Marines the perfect counter to high-agility units (like Eldar) or massive swarms (like Tyranids) where rolling to hit is a gamble.
Overwatch Kings: Because they hit automatically, they are the most terrifying unit to charge. If an enemy tries to move near them, you can use the Fire Overwatch Stratagem to unleash a full volley of flame, potentially melting the charging unit before they even touch your front lines.
Purge the Foe: In 10th Edition, they have the Purge the Foe ability. If they hit an infantry unit, that unit must take a Battleshock test. This makes them excellent at breaking the enemy's spirit and forcing them off objectives.
Cost-Effective Power: They are often cheaper than other specialized units, allowing you to bring significant "flamethrower" pressure without eating up too many points in your army list.
What’s Inside the Box? (Intro Sets & Multi-part)
Note: These are often found in "Starter Sets" or "Infernus Marines + Paint" bundles.
Easy-to-Build Design: These are typically push-fit models (no glue required), making them perfect for beginners.
Pyre-blasters: Detailed, long-nozzle flamethrowers with fuel lines connected to the marine’s backpack.
Dynamic Squad: Poses that suggest an advancing line of fire, with some marines bracing for the recoil of the burning promethium.
Bases: Citadel 32mm Round Bases.
The Paint Set (Essential Colors)
If you are getting the Infernus Marines + Paints set, it typically includes these high-quality Citadel paints to get you battle-ready immediately:
Corax White: For base-coating or detailing.
Abaddon Black: For weapon casings and joints.
Balthasar Gold: For the iconic golden trim and eagles.
Macragge Blue: The classic base color for Ultramarines.
Kantor Blue: For shading or darker accents.
Agrax Earth-shade: The "liquid talent"—a wash to add depth and grime to the recesses.

Through the Fire and Flames
The Infernus Marine is the embodiment of the Emperor's wrath made manifest. They don't just win battles; they erase the stain of the alien from the galaxy entirely.
"Let them hide in the shadows. We shall bring a light so bright they cannot help but be found—and consumed."
