Death Guard: Myphitic Blight-hauler

The Foul Hound of Nurgle.

Powering into battle on a trio of articulated track units, the Myphitic Blight-hauler is a light Daemon Engine that acts as the "attack dog" of the Death Guard. While most of the XIV Legion moves with a slow, ponderous gait, these snapping, clicking machines hunt in packs, providing mobile heavy fire support and protecting advancing Plague Marines with a thick, putrescent smog.

Why It’s a Cult Favorite

  • The "Tank Hunter" Specialist: In 10th Edition, the Blight-hauler possesses the Tank Hunters ability, granting it a permanent +1 to Hit and +1 to Wound when targeting Vehicles or Monsters. This makes its multi-melta and missile launcher punch far above their weight class.

  • Deceptive Durability: For its size, the Blight-hauler is incredibly tough to shift. With Toughness 9, a 5+ Invulnerable Save, and the ability to benefit from Death Guard stratagems like Cloud of Flies (Stealth), it often requires concentrated anti-tank fire to destroy a single one.

  • "Cute" but Deadly: Its unique silhouette—resembling a Bloat-drone that has been stripped of its turbines and given tracks—has earned it a dedicated following. It’s a "mini-tank" that can easily hide behind small ruins, only to dart out and melt a Land Raider.

  • Synergy with Contagions: Like all Death Guard units, it carries Nurgle’s Gift. As it closes in for melta range, it lowers the Toughness of enemy units, making them even easier to "krump" for the rest of your army.

What’s Inside the Box?

This is an Easy To Build (ETB) plastic kit, meaning it is designed for a quick and satisfying assembly:

  • Push-Fit Design: No glue is strictly required to assemble the 13 components, though most hobbyists use a little to ensure the seams are perfect.

  • Fixed Weaponry: The model comes with a standard, lethal loadout:

    • Multi-melta: For melting armor at close range.

    • Missile Launcher: For versatile anti-tank (Krak) or anti-infantry (Frag) fire.

    • Bile-spurt: A plague weapon used to spray acidic filth on nearby infantry.

    • Gnashing Maw: For biting anything brave enough to charge it.

  • Base: 1x Citadel 80mm Round Base.

"Hear that clicking? That’s not a malfunction. That’s the sound of something hungry—and it’s already got your scent."
